Participate in Design (P!D)

is a non-profit design organization dedicated to engaging and enabling people in shaping their everyday environments and local communities. Founded on the firm belief that everyone has the right to participate in and influence the design and planning processes that affect them, P!D provides services in designing and facilitating the public participation and engagement process for communities in Singapore. We research, test and develop socially just and inclusive methods of design that are appropriate for our local neighbourhoods, while also promoting the integration of participatory design in design education and practice.

Jan Lim

Jan Lim

is a community organiser and textile artist with a background in architecture. With industry experience in design thinking, she brings her ability to understand and translate people's underlying needs to her work with local communities, facilitating workshops with stakeholders that include government agency representatives, school students and public housing residents. Jan is committed to working closely with and alongside people, to develop their capacity for bettering everyday conditions.

Mizah Rahman

Mizah Rahman

is a designer and researcher based in Singapore with deep interests in participatory design and planning, community design and urban communities. An an architecture graduate, today Mizah continues to be actively involved in the world of academia while also working the ground to pursue her passion for people-centric design solutions and social innovation. She is the editor of Asian Urban Epicentres, a collaborative platform for sharing thoughts on Asian urbanism.

Liang Yanjie

Liang Yanjie

is a product designer with interests and capabilities that span across different disciplines of design. He believes that design is an emotive tool and good design should elicit a positive emotion in people. Relishing the joy of seeking inspiration from seemingly unrelated areas, he strives to create immersive experiences for the user that engage the different senses. He looks forward to working with other like-minded individuals to create awesome work.
